Selected Lists: Information Made Simple

Selected Lists are queries of your data for marketing and reporting purposes.  The database is Microsoft SQL 2000.  There are a  tremendous number of data fields  for use in this engine.  As a result, we added an easy  way to "pull" raw data to be manipulated for use in the museum for various purposes.  Selected Lists use  "SQL script" theory to provide a simple solution for the museum to query data.  The museum can create an unlimited number lists, saving each for future reference or reuse as needed.  These lists can be directly printed to labels, letters, renewal letters, pledge reminders, etc.  The system allows for a user to start with the widest possible amount of data and then to filter it down as finite as required until the remaining data is what the museum is seeking.  Explorer Systems staff will train your IT staff on how to best use this powerful and flexible tool.  Explorer provides you with the only available software tool that gathers data from ALL aspects of your membership, patron, sales, and history for your marketing and reporting needs.

An example of how a staff member would run a query to build a list of current members who attended the Imax film Bugs Life in January 2003.

1)  Select all members current members.

2) Remove all members who did not attend Bugs Life on January 1, 2003.

This would yield a finite list of members who attended Bugs Life on January 1, 2003.

It is possible to also:

Remove all members who were not members in 2001.

Remove all members who have a cumulative giving of less than $1,000.

Remove all members who were not Scouts in their youth.
