In 1988, the Louisville Science Center was the 2nd site to purchase the Explorer System. We've been faithful users ever since. Explorer has shown significant growth as a program and as a company. Their strength lies in their service, which is a direct result of the quality of their staff. We switched from the VMS to the WINDOWS version in August of 2001 and our level of satisfaction continues to be high.

Maine Discovery Museum is small by standards of many public museums, yet is the largest children's museum north of Boston. With 20,000 square feet of space, MDM has three floors of interactive, educational exhibits to delight patrons both young and old.

Explorer Software Systems has helped MDM operate throughout its first three years of existence. The staff has provided the Museum with the extensive support needed as a start-up. We are capable of providing fast, continuous admissions when necessary while also offering a volume of discount scenarios with ease. Visitor Services staff possess the capability of creating and locating membership/patron information on the fly while our administrative staff rely on Explorer to track donors and charitable gift histories.

Like most museums, MDM relies on the ability to access data at a moment's notice in order to provide the best possible service. The Explorer Systems product and support team have both been exceptional when called to task for the Maine Discovery Museum.

We began using the Explorer System for our Summer Science Camp registration when I first started working at the Museum of Life and Science. In the three years I've been here, we have expanded to use Explorer for all aspects of museum sales including admissions and ticketing, educational program scheduling, group reservation, all levels of membership and development as well as patron activity and education. Explorer's user-friendly software keeps our schedules well-organized and free from conflicts. With the data we collect, we are able to get a clear picture of our visitors and their needs. Having worked with other museum software, I find this system to be the best!
